Also called an Acknowledgement of Independent Legal Advice, it's a document in which a solicitor confirms that a borrower or guarantor received independent advice about the loan documents before signing. Lenders require it for SMSF loans, company directors' personal guarantees and family guarantees.
Our standard service is $880 with a two business day turnaround. Our urgent service is $1,320 for a same-day turnaround, subject to appointment availability. The fee covers reviewing your documents, written advice, the face-to-face meeting and witnessing.
No. We verify your identity and explain the documents to you in person at our Melbourne CBD office, which the certificate requires.
The certificate confirms you received legal advice about the risks and obligations you are taking on, not just that you signed. A Justice of the Peace can witness a signature but can't give legal advice, and your broker isn't independent of the transaction.
All the loan, guarantee and mortgage documents the lender sent you, and two forms of original government-issued photo ID, such as a passport and driver's licence.
